Seam Treatment:Seams are unavoidable between waterproof backing boards. These seams require special treatment to ensure overall waterproofing performance. First, ensure the seams are tight and flat, avoiding noticeable gaps or height differences. Use sealant or caulking compound to fill and seal the seams. The sealant should have good waterproofing properties and flexibility, able to withstand some thermal expansion and contraction.
Waterproof Reinforcement Layer:In areas prone to moisture intrusion, such as bathrooms and kitchens, in addition to basic backing board installation and seam treatment, it is recommended to add an extra waterproof reinforcement layer. The reinforcement layer can be made of waterproof membrane or waterproof coating, applied or laid according to the prescribed construction process. The thickness and extent of the reinforcement layer should meet relevant standards and design requirements. Generally, focus on reinforcing areas prone to water seepage, such as corners and around pipes, forming multiple lines of waterproofing to improve overall waterproofing reliability.
