The waterproof performance of waterproof cement boards primarily relies on two technological approaches:

First, chemical waterproofing, which involves adding waterproofing agents such as silicates and polymer emulsions during the cement mixing stage, forming a hydrophobic structure through a chemical reaction.

 

Second, physical waterproofing, which achieves water resistance by coating the board surface with a waterproof coating (such as epoxy resin or acrylic paint) or using a multi-layered composite structure (such as a waterproof membrane in the middle layer). During production, the boards undergo high-pressure molding and high-temperature curing processes to ensure a dense internal structure and reduce porosity, thereby improving the waterproofing effect. Some high-end products also utilize nanotechnology to fill the gaps between cement particles at the microscopic level, further enhancing waterproofing performance.
