Product Overview
The XPS tile backer board (also known as a waterproof tile backer board or tile backing board) consists of an extruded polystyrene (XPS) closed-cell foam core, reinforced on both sides with an alkali-resistant woven glass-fiber mesh and polymer-modified cement mortar. Engineered as a rigid, lightweight, and 100% waterproof substrate system, it is widely imported by building material wholesalers and construction brands for wall and floor tiling in wet environments.
Unlike traditional plywood, gypsum plasterboard, or conventional cement boards, this composite structure prevents moisture migration, eliminates mold growth, and provides immediate thermal insulation underneath electric underfloor heating systems. Designed for direct mechanical fixing or adhesive bonding to timber studs, light-gauge steel framing, and solid masonry substrates.
