This thermal tile backer board features a closed-cell foam insulation core, with a textured, reinforced cement-based surface layer specifically designed for tile adhesive bonding. Its surface delivers a bond strength of over 1.0MPa with standard tile mortars, exceeding industry requirements for tile installation, while the core eliminates thermal bridging through the wall, preventing condensation and mold growth behind tile in cold exterior walls, bathroom shower surrounds, and sunroom spaces. The closed-cell core is also fully water-resistant, making it suitable for both wet and dry tile installations, with no risk of moisture damage or swelling.

Compared to traditional multi-layer systems (separate insulation board + cement backer board), this thermal tile backer board is up to 60% lighter, reducing structural load on walls and making it easy for crews to transport, cut, and install on-site. It has extremely low thermal expansion and contraction, eliminating differential movement between the substrate and tile that causes cracking and hollow spots over time. It is ideal for bathroom shower walls, kitchen backsplashes, exterior tile cladding, sunroom walls, and cold wall insulation in residential and hotel projects.
